Top 5 Electric Scooters for Adults: Reviews and Recommendations

Best Overall Product - Yume X11 Stand Up Electric Scooter

Equally beautiful, equally sturdy. Yume X11 Electric Scooter won’t cost you an arm and a leg, maybe a finger or two. It is relatively expensive compared to most scooters, but rightfully so. This is one of the best electric scooters for adults money can get you.

Appearance and Design

One look at this scooter, and you can instantly tell that time and precision went into designing it. It comes well packaged, and upon further inspection, you’ll notice the package is well protected.

Looks are subjective, but this is definitely a beautiful scooter. It comes in a few different colors that blend perfectly – yellow and black, red and black, and all black.  As for the dimensions, the scooter measures 55 inches by 20 inches. Both front and rear wheels are 11 inches in diameter. Remember to charge it for 6 hours before using it.

Specs and Performance

The company uses top-tier materials and world-class accessories to make this scooter endure the roughest terrains and environments. It comes with dual 5600W motors and a 60V 31.5Ah battery with a maximum range of 60 miles.

Its torque is amazing, and it’s almost scary how fast the scooter can go. At a top speed of 55mph, the price tag seems like a bargain. And what’s even better is that it can hold over 330 pounds. Doesn’t matter how big or small you are; Yume X11 is the scooter you should be buying.

What We Like:

  • Very stable even in bumps and rough terrain.
  • Comes in a foldable design, making it easy to transport.
  • Perfect for off-roads

What We Don’t Like:

  • Relatively expensive when compared to most brands.
Best Lightweight Scooter - UScooters Booster V Folding Electric Scooter

At 23 pounds, UScooters Folding Electric Scooter is one of the lightest scooters you’ll come across. Easy to use, very light, and, as expected, insanely fast. It ticks all the important boxes for a reliable scooter. But there’s a lot more than what meets the eye.

Appearance and Design

This comes in six different colors, ranging from super bright green to blue to the more subtle white. Even if you’re not a fan of bright colors, you’ll have to agree that these scooters look amazing. An advantage of such colors is that other motorists can easily see you at night.

There’s nothing out of the ordinary when it comes to design. Simple at its best. But more than a few accessories have been added to it.

Specs and Performance

On top of being the best lightweight scooter, UScooters scooter is also sufficiently decorated. It has airless tires and a color LCD display. Airless tires mean that they are coated with rubber composite for enhanced performance on rough and wet surfaces.

The scooter travels up to 21 miles on a single charge and has a top speed of 25mph. And with its 36V 10.5aH battery, going uphill has never been easier. You’ll also appreciate its 3-point folding system that makes transporting it super easy.

What We Like:

  • Very lightweight.
  • Its foldable design makes it easy to transport.
  • Relatively affordable

What We Don’t Like:

  • The wheels are small and, therefore, not very stable, especially if you hit a pothole.
Best for Long Trips - Mototec Knockout Fat Tire Electric Scooter

Mototec looks more like a low-rider bike than a scooter.  This is a nice place to begin if you are torn between getting a bike or a scooter.

Appearance and Design

The scooter’s design is clean. Assembling it may take time and effort, but everything falls into place once you do. I especially love its LED headlight. The seat is comfortable, and the handlebars feel sturdy.

The scooter’s weight is 200 pounds, which is expected given its size. You’ll need between 6 to 8 hours to charge it fully.

Specs and Performance

This scooter is powered by a 60V, 12Ah battery. Its tires are oversized, which is good because you don’t need to worry about stumbling into a pothole. Its top speed is 25 mph. While this is within most scooters’ range, I expected it to be slightly faster, given its size. Either way, this should do just fine.

The scooter’s parts come with a 30-day replacement warranty. Check for any defaults within this period and contact the manufacturer if needed.

What We Like:

  • Assembling it is easy and will take around 30 minutes.
  • Designed for rough roads and terrains.
  • The fat tires offer a smooth ride.

What We Don’t Like:

  • Could be faster
Most Affordable - GVA Brands Rosso Cobra Electric Kick Scooter

GVA Rosso Cobra Electric Scooter is so cheap that I had to double-check whether the price tag was correct. Anyone who says you can’t have a quality scooter at an affordable price clearly hasn’t met this scooter.

Appearance and Design

As a black fanatic, the black color of this scooter is orgasmic. Plus, having a seat is an added advantage. I have seen scooters of better design, but thumbs up to the design team. They went for a simple and functional design but still stood out.

The wheels are sturdy, the seat is comfortable, and the handlebars are firm. Honestly, there’s nothing to complain about the scooter’s design.

Specs and Performance

Now to what matters the most; the scooter’s performance. It is powered by a 36V battery and a 1000W motor. You shouldn’t have any problems riding through the rain, mud, uphill, and bumpy roads.

The rubber tires also play a crucial role in this. They add to its stability, traction, and ground clearance. Plus, with the shock-absorbent suspension, each ride becomes very enjoyable.

The only downside is that the scooter has a top speed of 17 mph. You can go faster than this on your skateboard.

What We Like:

  • Very affordable.
  • Its rubber tires make it perfect for rough terrain.
  • Very comfortable thanks to the shock-absorbing suspension.

What We Don’t Like:

  • Slow; could be faster
Fastest - UberScoot Folding Electric Scooter EVO-1000

Ever got so tired of standing on your scooter that you wanted to sit? You’ll be delighted to know that UberScoot Folding Electric Scooter comes with a seat. Such subtle additions make UberScoot one of the best brands in the business.

Appearance and Design

Out of the box, this scooter is heavy– bad news for those looking for something compact and lightweight. You’ll also need to assemble it though this should be a breeze. With regular use, the seat tends to get stuck. A good way of fixing this is to grease it regularly.

This scooter’s wheels are 10 inches in diameter. It measures 49 inches x 9.8 inches. Its weight limit is 265 pounds. We highly recommend getting a side mirror to see what’s behind you without turning.

Features and Specs

The top speed of this scooter is 30mph. No one is looking to get seriously injured riding a scooter. Though not very fast, this is more than enough for errands and strolls. It is powered by a 36-volt battery with 12Ah.

It will take you 6 to 8 hours to fully charge the scooter. You can then ride using its economy mode to extend its range. The more you ride this scooter, the more you grow fond of it.

What We Like:

  • Highly affordable.
  • Its metal parts have a nice and solid feeling.
  • Sturdy and goes uphill effortlessly.

What We Don’t Like:

  • Heavy, slightly difficult to carry around
  • A few customers complained of the seat being crooked. But to be fair, everyone’s butt is different. Plus, you can always adjust this.
